Singapore’s Ethan Brown Battles Through Steep Learning Curve for Top-10 Finish at Zandvoort

Circuit Zandvoort, Netherlands - Singapore racing driver Ethan Brown overcame a challenging weekend of limited preparation to secure a determined pair of results at Round 2 of the at the iconic, finishing P14 in Race 1 and P10 in Race 2.

Competing at one of Europe’s most historic and demanding circuits, Brown entered the weekend on the back foot, with no pre-event testing and just two hours of free practice drive time available to learn the famously technical Dutch venue. Adding to the challenge, Brown and his co-driver, Tim Hutter, were both learning the circuit together, forcing the pair to maximise every lap of limited running as they built confidence and understanding of the track. Known for its fast, flowing corners, dramatic banking and unforgiving layout, Zandvoort presented a steep learning curve for the duo, who were experiencing the circuit for the first time.

Despite the lack of preparation, Brown steadily built confidence throughout the weekend, extracting the maximum possible result from a difficult situation.

“Zandvoort was honestly one of the most daunting tracks I’ve ever had to learn,” said Brown. “It’s a proper old-school circuit, the steep banking at Turns 3 and 14 is incredibly unique, the walls feel very close and there’s just no room for mistakes. To arrive at such an iconic track with no testing and only a couple of hours of drive time meant there was a huge amount to learn in a very short space of time. Every session became really important in building confidence and understanding where to find time.”

“Race 2 felt like a big step forward. I was much more comfortable, trusted the car more and could finally start pushing and fighting with the drivers around me. To come away with a top-10 after the challenges we faced was probably the maximum result available, and I’m really happy with the progress I made over the weekend.”

The weekend marked another important step in Brown’s development during his maiden season in GT Masters competition, with the 2026 campaign continuing to focus on learning new tracks, building confidence in a new car and gaining experience in one of Europe’s most competitive GT racing environments.

Brown will now turn his attention to Round 3 of the championship at Lausitzring, taking place from 19–21 June, where he will look to continue building momentum as the season progresses.
